“My favorite surprise of the summer was discovering Sayryn, whose quiet-loud-quiet take on folk-grunge offers a refreshing alternative to contemporary ’90s revivalists. Cautionary Tales is a sparse and haunting collection of vignettes anchored by the powerful twin vocals of Bryn Jahna and Saya, who weave their talents around bleak depictions of youth and young womanhood. Perfect vibes for your next seance or coven meeting.”

Cautionary Tales (self-released)

Sayryn is a Nashville based duo that consists of Bryn Jahna and Saya. Both songwriters bring their unique styles to the group, taking on themes such as insecurity, growing up and relationships. With their interwoven vocals, Bryn on guitar and Saya on Baritone guitar, the duo create a spectacularly lush sound. Sayryn’s influences combine elements of folk, rock and emo. Simon & Garfunkel and Mitski are among the many artists that inspire them. Performing at well-loved local venues such as Drkmttr, The East Room, The End, and The Cobra, the duo is organically carving out an audience of their very own. Sayryn’s debut album,”Cautionary Tales”, was released on June 21st 2024.

“It certainly provides commentary on how human society was affecting us in our early 20’s. Growing up and realizing how complex life really is, that’s really the thread of the album. We hoped to impart our lessons-learned and conclusions onto those who’d listen.”
